  PROJECTED WORKS

The following are works which elgar, in his maturitty, contemplated
writing. Some of the sketches remain in the British Library); others he used
in other works. His plans for a Hardy opera and King Lear are not included
because no sketches exist.

       The High Tide, cantata for soprano, possibly bass, chorus, and
       orchestra, based on 'The High Tide on the Coast of Lincolnshire
       (1571)' by Jaan Ingelow. 'Toyed with' in 1893 and 1901 (for 1902
       Norwich Festival).

  1901年
       'Welish Overture' (sketch used in Introduction and Allegro, 1905).

  1903年
       Rabelais, a ballet (Gargantua and Pantagruel).
